Japan supports the construction of a health centre in Ainaro and an elementary school in Ataúro

The Minister of Health, Élia A. The contracts were signed by the Japanese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Yamamoto Yasushi, with the organisation Haburas Dezenvolve Talento (HADEZTA – acronym in Tetun) and the Hanoin ba Futuru Juventude Association (AHFJ – acronym in Tetun), the entities responsible for implementing the respective projects.

The health centre project will be implemented by HADEZTA in Village Nunumoge, Hatubuilico Administrative Post, Ainaro Municipality, to improve access to primary health care, particularly for mothers and children, and to strengthen the provision of basic services in rural areas. The new infrastructure will be integrated into the National Health System, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, Municipal Health Services, and administrative and local authorities.

In Ataúro, AHFJ will build a primary school in the Macadade village to expand access to education and improve learning conditions for children in the community.

The President of the Municipal Authority of Ainaro, the President of the Administrative Authority of Ataúro, representatives of HADEZTA and AHFJ, and community leaders also attended the ceremony.
