The Ministry of State Administration and Territorial Planning, through the Secretary of State for Administrative Reform, Florindo Pereira , informed in a press conference that, in 2011, the government allocated the sum of 3, 5 million american dollars for the Local Development Fund (FDL).
“The main objective of this budget allocation, consists in the reduction of the degree of poverty through the implementation of small projects, particularly in the areas of infra-structures, education and health services in the 13 districts, speeding the promotion of the decentralization process”, highlighted Arcângelo Leite.
This same project began as a pilot project in 2004, in the Bobonaro district. Until 2010 the Local development Program continued expanding through the 13 districts, resulting in the creation of the Local Assembly and the Commission of Sub-district Development, aiming at the promotion of the participation of all communities.
