Secretariat of State for Security delivers equipment to the Border Patrol Unit

The Secretary of State for Defence, acting Secretary of State for Security, Júlio Tomás Pinto, delivered to the PNTL General Commander Longuinhos Monteiro, equipment for the Agents from the Border Patrol Unit (Portuguese acronym UPF). This symbolic gesture happened in the Government Palace, March 2, where were delivered 6 motorbikes, 4 parable antennas, 36 beds, mosquito nets and mattresses.

“The State when creating an Institution, should have the obligation to provide facilities, has as being doing with other I institutions, since we are still in the phase of state building, nation building and the police institutions, particularly the ones in the border, need this facilities. Even slowly, is the State duty to improve our services, for the benefit of a better future, since your performance in the border area represents the Timor-Leste character, attitude and image before a foreign country”, pointed out Júlio Tomás Pinto.

In the same occasion, the PNTL General Commander, Longuinhos Monteiro, highlighted he’s appreciation: “I thank the support given by the Secretary of State for Security that, even small helps to solve problems such as coordination between the agents posted in several far away locations”.
