On April 8th, 2025, the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, presided over the launch ceremony of the mobile application of the National Social Security Institute (INSS), held at the GMN multipurpose hall in Dili. The new digital tool aims to bring social security services closer to citizens, allowing simple and direct access to various personal and contributory information. 
The event was attended by the Minister for Social Solidarity and Inclusion, Verónica das Dores, the Vice-Minister, Céu Brites, and the Chairman of the INSS Board of Directors, Arlindo Pinto, among other members of the Government and representatives of public and private entities. 
In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of this innovation for public and private sector workers, considering that this “is an important day, especially for those who contribute to social security”. He also stressed that initiatives such as this one make it possible to “bring the provision of services closer to each person”, allowing workers in public and private institutions “to have a guarantee of their future”. 
The INSS Mobile application allows users to consult, in a simple and intuitive way, information about their contributory status, professional career, benefits awarded, contributory portfolio and simulate the estimated value of their retirement pension. The application will soon be available for free download from the Play Store (Android) and App Store (iOS) and can also be downloaded via the following link: https://api.segurancasocial.gov.tl/uploads/app_arm64_v8a_release_27e936adfa.apk 
The Chairman of the INSS Board of Directors, Arlindo Pinto, stressed that the application represents a significant step in the digitization of services, underlining that this tool makes it possible to “improve the provision of public services, as well as effectiveness and efficiency for our citizens who have contributed to social security”.
The launch of the mobile application follows other initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion over the last year, such as the creation of the Social Security Portal and the issuing of social security cards to all taxpayers. The government has also overhauled the system for paying social benefits to the elderly, ensuring greater proximity, decentralization and speed, with payments being made more regularly at the branch level. 
With this new application, the government reaffirms its commitment to modernizing public administration and promoting greater transparency and efficiency in the management of social security, helping to build a more accessible, inclusive and sustainable system for all citizens.
