The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, today concluded a five-day official visit to the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA), which took place from February 17 to 21. The main purpose of this trip was to make a general assessment of institutional functioning, monitor the progress of public services, analyze territorial planning and directly collect ideas and plans from the Authority and the local community for the development of the region. 
During the Prime Minister’s visit, on February 18th, the digital health system was launched, which will bring several significant advantages, including the transformation of time-consuming manual processes into intelligent digital solutions. This system allows for the implementation of centralized electronic medical records, guaranteeing access to and synchronization of data in real time, promoting efficiency, modernization and improving the quality of health services provided to the population. 
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of digitizing public administration as an essential step towards improving the efficiency and transparency of public services, noting that, in the health sector, this modernization will allow for better monitoring of patients and more effective management of resources. He also argued that the success of the initiative requires an integrated process, with the reinforcement of infrastructures and the training of professionals, guaranteeing the sustainability and full implementation of the digital system. 
The President of the RAEOA Authority, Rogério Tiago Lobato, stressed that “the digitalization of the health system in the RAEOA has the potential to serve as a model for the whole country. Oé-Cusse is a small region, but with efficient resource management, we have managed to turn digitalization into a concrete reality. 
The Regional Secretary for Health Affairs, Luís de Jesus Neno, highlighted the practical benefits of digitalization, which “will allow for greater efficiency in care and data management. With this system, health professionals will be able to monitor, in real time, the number of patients seen, identify the most frequent illnesses and monitor the quantity of medicines, guaranteeing a more agile and effective response to the needs of the population.” 
During his stay, the Prime Minister also visited the community of Naktuka, where he called for the promotion of peace and the strengthening of friendship between the border communities of Timor-Leste and Indonesia. He also assured that, together with the Indonesian President, he will work to resolve the issue of delimiting the borders between the two countries, based on the principles of international law. 
In the area of infrastructure, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão inspected the project to rehabilitate the road linking Taiboko village, through Usitaku, to Lela-Ufe village, an important project to improve mobility and enable the population to sell their agricultural products. The Prime Minister praised the RAEOA Authority’s efforts in carrying out this project and emphasized the importance of maintaining quality infrastructure for the sustainable development of the region.
