The Ministry of Social Solidarity (Portuguese acronym MSS) launched, on September 17th, in Caicoli, the book which contains its long term Strategic Plan, from 2011 to 2030.
Maria Domingas Alves, Minister of Social Solidarity, pointed out that “for the staff and directors, the contents of the plan and the long term program are not a novelty, in regards to its immediate and brief implementation, but this Plan also reflects its long term implementation. The important thing is to have a a well established and adequate plan, since the realization of all the programs will need human resources training, that have capacity to, in the future, to implement an integrated strategic plan.”
The MSS General-Director, Eugénio Amado Soares, highlighted that “this book launch represents an important step to allow the MSS programs to be carried out, according to the people needs and in agreement with the plan already outlined for 2011 until 2030. From this date on each Directorate will perform its own programs, for the benefit of development of their activities, where the social assistance will be confined to the necessities felt by the community in general and not of anyone in particular. ”
This event had the participation of the Vice-Minister of Economy and Development, Cristiano da Costa and some development partners namely; AusAid, UsAid, UNDP, a few national NGO’s such as Pradet and Katilosa and other NGO’s.
