Timorese must work with quality and responsibility

The Professional Training Centre, Brazil – Timor-Leste, in Becora, organized, on the 16th of September, in Díli, the graduation ceremony of 185 trainees in the carpentry, sewing, electrician, hydraulic, informatics, machinery, bread making and construction areas.

The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment, Bendito Freitas, considered the event as a signal that reflects the Brazilian Government’s contribution, in partnership with the Timor-Leste Government, regarding the human resources capacity at a technical-professional level. The Brazilian Government, through the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (Portuguese acronym ABC), has already trained around 1 857 Timorese youngsters in several areas from 2001 until the present date.

Bendito Freitas emphasized that, with this graduation, it is expect that the trainees contribute for the investment, within the construction area, in the national development process that, according to the Government policy, predicts quality and responsibility of services. It is up to the Timorese to provide the workmanship while also facing the unemployment that is reflectsed in the world, including Timor-Leste. In this way, the Government, through the Secretariat of State for Professional Training (Portuguese acronym SEFOPE), continues to pay attention to the youth, giving them skills and capacity that allows them to respond to market demands.

The Brazilian Government, through its Ambassador in Timor-Leste, pointed out that it is proud of the results obtained by the technical cooperation between the ABC and the SEFOPE in the promotion of the Professional Training Centre, Brazil – Timor-Leste. He also referred that the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil himself, Lula da Silva, when visiting the Centre, expressed his Government’s will to continue helping the Professional Training Centre, Brazil – Timor-Leste.
