On October 6th, 2023, the National Centre for Employment and Vocational Training (CNEFP- Portuguese acronym) held the Closing Ceremony for the 2022/2023 Training Cycle and the Opening of a new Training Cycle in Tibar in the municipality of Liquiçá.
During the event, Level I and II certificates of achievement were awarded to 215 trainees, of whom 129 are men and 91 are women, in the areas of General Building, Hospitality and Agriculture.
Forty-eight certificates were awarded to Polytechnic Institute of Betano trainees on Practice Training in Civil Construction and the Professional Internship in Livestock.
The ceremony included opening the General Building Training for F-FDTL personnel and the Maritime Unit Training. It’s worth noting that some of these trainees are soldiers from the F-FDTL’s Naval Component, in training supported by the Australian Government through the DCP (Defence Cooperation Program) Military Technical Cooperation. This training aims to technically train military personnel who will be responsible for maintaining the Navy’s fleet in the future.
During the ceremony, the ground-breaking took place for the Multipurpose Workshop, a two-storey building with a versatile workshop that can be adapted to different areas, containing rooms for trainers and a conference hall.
In his speech, the Secretary of State for Livestock, José Vieira de Araújo, representing the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, congratulated the trainees and encouraged them in their integration into the labour market. He also emphasised “the quality of the CNEFP’s training initiatives”, “in various strategic areas for national development such as construction, agriculture and hospitality”.
The Secretary of State for Livestock, the Director General of the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment, representing the Secretary of State, and the Director of the National Institute for Manpower Development were also present. The Portuguese Embassy was represented by the Employment Attaché and the Australian Embassy by representatives of the Defence Cooperation Program.
