Programme of Activities for the 24th Anniversary Celebrations of the Referendum (Popular Consultation)

The celebrations of the 24th anniversary of the Popular Consultation will take place on August 30th, starting at 9 a.m., with a Eucharistic celebration attended by all the members of the 9th Constitutional Government and their spouses at the Balide Parish Church in Dili.

Starting at 3 p.m., a Healthy March will take place from three concentration points – Kuluhun – Maufelo Bridge; Dili Convention Centre (CCD); and Jardim 12 de Novembro, in Motael – to Jardim and BJ Habibie Bridge.

From Kuluhun-Ponte Maufelo, which covers the Cristo Rei Administrative Post, there will be participants from the Ministry of Justice (MJ) and Officials from Becora Prison, Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) Becora Station, SENAI/ SEFOPE, UNITAL, Becora Secondary School, Ministry of Youth, Sports, Art and Culture (MJDAC), General State Inspectorate, Red Cross of Timor-Leste (CVTL), Central Bank of Timor-Leste (BCTL), National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL), PNTL Barracks, and the Cristo Rei Administrative Post Community. The gathering will be opened by the Secretary of State for Toponymy and Urban Organisation.

From the CCD, which covers the Vera Cruz and Nain Feto Administrative Posts, there will be participants from the F-FDTL, PM, UNDIL, Ministry of Health, SEFOPE, PNTL Dili District, Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), Court of Appeal, Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), Office of the Prosecutor for Human Rights and Justice (PDHJ), Ministry of State Administration (MAE), Dili Municipality Authority, Ministry of Justice, UNTL, RTTL, CFP, Ministry of Interior (MI), Ministry of Public Works (MOP), Ministry of National Liberation Combatants Affairs (MACLN), INFORDEPE, BTL, EDTL, Dili Prosecutor’s Office, and Community of Administrative Posts of Vera Cruz and Nain Feto. The gathering will be opened by the Vice Minister of State Administration.

Finally, from Jardim 12 de Novembro, in Motael, which covers the Dom Aleixo Administrative Post, there will be participants from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry (MAPPF), the Secretariat of Art and Culture (SEAC), the Ministry of Defence (MD), the Ministry of Planning and Strategic Investment (MPIE), the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESCC), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MPRM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC), the Ministry of Finance (MF), the Ministry of Tourism and Environment (MTA), the Civil Registry and Notary Office, the Dili District Court and the Dom Aleixo Administrative Post Community. The gathering will be opened by the Minister of State Administration.

The celebrations will continue in the garden next to the B.J. Habibie Bridge from 4 p.m. with a prayer service. Raffles and draws will take place between the speeches and the closing ceremony, as well as a musical concert.
