The 48th FALINTIL anniversary celebrations, organized by the Ministry of Defence, will take place on August 19th and 20th, under the theme “Commemorating the heroic effort of the struggle for the consolidation of the people’s identity and nationalism”.

On the 19th, at 8.30 a.m., there will be a Mass in honour of the National Heroes, in the F-FDTL headquarters, followed by the wreath laying ceremony, in the National Heroes Memorial, in Metinaro.

On the 20th, the FALINTIL day, at 8 a.m., the military ceremonies will begin at the F-FDTL headquarters.

After the military honours, and the integration of the National Banner in the Military Parade, a tribute will be paid in memory of the National Heroes deceased in combat. Before the speeches of the F-FDTL Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Domingos Raúl “Falur Rate Laek, and the President of the National Parliament, Maria Fernanda Lay, the military promotions will be announced.

This will be followed by the military parade and the closing lunch.
