The 9th Constitutional Government Programme was submitted today to the President of the National Parliament, Maria Fernanda Lay, by the Vice Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Adérito Hugo da Costa.

The Government’s Programme summarises the main public policies to be adopted during the term of office, intending to strengthen and optimise the governance sectors and their resources, and shortening the path, set to transform the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development vision and the Strategic Development Plan 2011 – 2030 into reality. 

The Government also requested the National Parliament to approve a Vote of Confidence, based on the firm and determined commitment of the Government to fulfil its Program to promote the development, prosperity and well-being of Timorese citizens.

The Program comprises six main areas, namely the reaffirmation of the democratic rule of law, the development of social capital, the development of infrastructure, the development of the economy, government consolidation and good governance and the fight against corruption.
