The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment, Bendito Freitas, with the National Director of Employment and the Attaché for Work Issues, visited, in May, the city of Ansan, in South Korea. The delegation went to the Galilea Care Center that has been giving support to the Timorese that are working in that country and have adaptation difficulties.
The entourage, led by the highest responsible person for workers in the RDTL, Bendito Freitas, also visited the Care and Shelter Center – Galilea Migration Center – that welcomes and gives shelter to workers while they look for a new job.
In the Galilea Care Center, the Secretary of State Bendito Freitas met with Priest Pater Martin Quido Naikofi, and the Priest Kristianus Piatu, responsible for this institution. The Secretary of State took the opportunity to thank the services provided by the Center, having the expectation of maintaining a good network so as to give support to the Timorese, since the number of Timor-Leste workers in South Korea will increase in the future.
The Priest Kristianus Piatu explained the Care Center’s functions and its importance in the preparation of arriving workers. He also informed on the behaviour of the Timorese workers during their work, about the work environment, and also referred other issues connected to the rights and duties of the workers in their working places.
