Government expresses its solidarity with Indonesia
The Government of Timor-Leste presents its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia for the incident that occurred in the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, Java Island, last Saturday night.
At least 131 people have died, and about 400 have been injured, in one of the worst sports stadium disasters in the world and the worst in Indonesian football history.
The Spokesperson of the 8th Constitutional Government, Minister Fidelis Magalhães, on behalf of the Council of Ministers and the entire Government, expressed his “solidarity with the Government and People of the Republic of Indonesia” and stated that “in this difficult moment, our thoughts are with the victims and their families”.
