The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, accompanied by the Secretary of State of Security, Francisco Guterres, the Secretary of State of Agriculture and Arboriculture, Marcos da Cruz, the Administrator of the Viqueque district, Francisco Guterres, the PNTL Commissioner, Longuinhos Monteiro and by the Ambassador of Japan, Iwao Kitahara, carried out last Friday, in the Uatocarbau sub-district, the Consultation on the Strategic Plan for National Development.
During the Consultation, the Prime Minister was received by the administrator of the Uatocarbau sub-district who took the opportunity to lament the fact that some projects in his district, from the Pacote Referendo (Referendum Package), don’t have quality. With this he alerted to the fact that the companies that provide the services don’t have quality and are not recommended or recognized by anyone.
Among others that accompanied the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão introduced the Ambassador of Japan, Iwao Kitahara to the population of the Uatocarbao sub-district. He reminded them that Japan was the country that, in the last seven years, has shown interest in providing support in the construction of bridges and roads.
In his intervention the Prime Minister once again referred that, from 2010 to 2030, there cannot be any families that live in houses without conditions, access to electricity, bridges, roads and drinking water, and must be able to sell the produce that they cultivate. Therefore the PEDN should be a kind of guide for any political party, which should proceed with the national objectives based on national development.
The leader of the IV Governemnt appealed to the Chiefs of Aldeia, Sucos and to the sub-district Administrators, so they pay attention to the State’s projects implemented at the base level, since they are destined to the communities and so the local authorities should pay attention.
