Government and National Parliament analyse national strategy to prevent and combat COVID-19

On June 14th, 2021, the Government went to the National Parliament to debate the national strategy to prevent and combat COVID-19.

The government team was led by the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Magalhães, representing the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, and comprised of several holders of relevant ministries, involved in preventing and combating COVID-19.

During the debate, the Government members answered the questions and concerns of the National Parliament Members, and took stock of the implementation of the ongoing measures to fight the SARS-CoV-2 virus and to respond to its socio-economic impacts.

Therefore, they reiterated the appeal for all citizens to participate in the vaccination campaign and reaffirmed that the vaccines available in the country, AstraZeneca and Sinovac, are safe and effective.
