The Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães, met, on May 31st, 2021, with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Timor-Leste, Roy Trivedy, in the context of the “The Timor-Leste drivers of growth and sectorial transformation” studys launch, that will be presented to the Government members, next Wednesday, in the Executive Retreat.

This study was drawn up, upon request of the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, by the International Growth Centre (IGC) in coordination with the Office of Administrative Reform of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and with the support of the United Nations.

The study, which focuses on potential drivers of growth and sector transformation in Timor-Leste, aims to provide evidence and policy recommendations to guide Government policies to achieve greater economic diversification into non-oil sectors and put the country on a more sustainable medium to long term development path.

The IGC is an economic research centre, created in 2008, which is the result of a partnership between the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Oxford.
