The Ministry for Legislative Reform and Parliamentary Affairs and the United States’ Millennium Challenge Corporation are hosting a workshop, on 2-3 October at Comissão Nacional Eleições (CNE), in Dili, to discuss Timor-Leste’s development challenges as part of the development of the compact program.
The meeting, The Timor-Leste Root Cause Analysis Workshop, aims to focus on the key challenges the country faces in its economic development.
This initiative is part of the development partnership launched in 2017 between the Government of Timor-Leste and the Millennium Development Corporation (MCC).
MCC, an independent foreign aid agency, selected Timor-Leste as eligible for a compact – a large five-year grant program. As part of the compact development process, the workshop will identify and confirm specific issues that the people of Timor-Leste want to address through targeted investments and other activities.
