State Secretariat for Social Communication sends 10 journalists for training in Indonesia

The Government, through the Secretary of State for Social Communication (SECOMS), together with the Human Development Capital Fund (HDCF), sent more 10 journalists to participate in a training course for two weeks, at the Dr. Soetomo School of Journalism, in Jakarta, Indonesia, in order to enhance their knowledge.

The Secretary of State, Nélio Isaac Sarmento, stressed that in order to raise the level of knowledge in the area of Communication, each year, SECOMS proposes to the Human Capital Development Fund to send journalists and media officers from different ministries for technical training, in Portugal and in Indonesia. He requested therefore to the journalists who are going to participate in this training course, to seize the opportunity, learning from foreign professionals and, in return, use this newly acquired knowledge in their institutions and in general at the service of the State.

In addition to technical training, regularly SECOMS also offers training in Portuguese and English to journalists, alerting them to put greater care in the mastery of these two languages. image2 300x196 State Secretariat for Social Communication sends 10 journalists for training in Indonesia

At the same event, Henrique de Carvalho informed that the Human Capital Development Fund, which he was representing and of which SECOMS is also a member, since its creation on March 23rd, 2011, promotes training programmes and offers scholarships. This training abroad is part of the professional or vocational training category.

On behalf of the HDCF, he reinforced the words of SECOMS that the trainees should observe the rules and learn as much as possible, so that, in return, they could apply what they have learnt in their institutions.

On January 13th, 2017, SECOMS handed certificates to the 10 trainees, from different ministries, of Public Relations, who participated in the Audio-visual Media training, in the Alam Audiovisual Media-Studio PUSKAT in Yogyacarta, in Indonesia. This ceremony was held in the auditorium of the PCM, at the Government Palace.
