The Municipality of Aileu was the first area in the country to successfully complete the registration of patients for subsequent insertion of data into the digital system of the “Family Health” program. To this end, the Prime Minister, Rui Maria de Araújo, accompanied by the Vice-Minister for Health, Ana Isabel Soares, travelled, on December 17, to the Administrative Post of Laulara, located in the said Municipality.
The Head of the Executive, on behalf of the Government, congratulated the population, the health delegates and the rest of the team for the work done, in a total of 7,573 registered families. He added that, despite the difficulties faced, they worked hard to achieve the ultimate objective. Rui Maria de Araújo thanked the support given by the development partners and asked for its continuity.
This program, he explained, was created at the initiative of the Government, “with a view to strengthening primary health care, especially among families”.
The Prime Minister challenges the remaining municipalities to follow the example of Aileu, requesting to finish the registration by 20 of May of 2017.
“When there is will, there is a way. The future of Timor-Leste will be bright if our focus on family health is carried out with will and dedication”, said the Prime Minister.
As a product of the result achieved, received from the Office of the Prime Minister donate 25 computers to the Municipality of Aileu. On behalf of the population, the Administrator of the Municipality of Aileu, affirmed the commitment to be always available to ensure the continuity of the use of the digital system.
Representatives of the World Health Organization and Cuban Cooperation, directors and heads of the Ministry of Health, health professionals, Suco chiefs and local population also attended the ceremony.
