Inauguration of the headquarters of the Representation of CPLP in Dili and launch of CPLP’s Audio-visual Programme

Under the Rotating Presidency of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (acronym in Portuguese: CPLP), which Timor-Leste is currently holding, was officially inaugurated the headquarters of the representation of the organization in Dili. The ceremony took place on July 23rd and was attended by the holders or representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the nine member countries.

This new space, located on Avenida de Portugal, Praia dos Coqueiros, will be the headquarters of the Timorese Presidency of CPLP. It will also work as an information point of the organization to the national and international communities living in Timor-Leste, even after 2017, when Timor-Leste will pass the presidency to the next country in the rotation of the Presidency.

At the inauguration, the CPLP Audio-visual Programme was launched, a cultural exchange initiative dedicated to the production and broadcasting of audio-visual contents in CPLP countries. Three activities are already defined: the “2nd Programme to Promote Production and Broadcasting of Documentaries of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (acronym in Portuguese: CPLP DOCTV II)”, with the completion of nine videos – one for each Member State; the “1st Development Program for the Development, Production and Broadcasting of Fiction works of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (acronym in Portuguese: CPLP FICTV)”, with four TV films and development projects for another five TV movies; and the filming of four documentaries, with the involvement of the national televisions of the Community.

The national competitions DOCTV II and FICTV will launch from August 2015. CPLP Audio-visual Programme has a budget of three million euros.
