The ceremony for the delivery of a complete system for digitalisation of audiovisual archives, to Rádio e Televisão de Timor-Leste, EP, commonly known as RTTL (English name: ‘Radio and Television of Timor-Leste), is going to take place on June 25th at 4 p.m., at the building of the State’s television station.

This activity comes under the scope of the Timor-Leste Support Program for Democratic Governance – Media component – a cooperation delegated by the European Union to Portugal, through Camões, IP – Institute for cooperation and language, signalling the important relationship of cooperation between Portugal, Timor-Leste and the European Union, in the media sector.

Besides the installation of the system, the Support Program is carrying out a training activity, in the area of information systems and archives, for all RTTL staff, and reinforcing the archive team with six interns from the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (Portuguese acronym: UNTL). The objective is to provide the public television station with technological equipment and capable human resources to proceed with the preservation of historical documents that are part of the collective memory of the Timorese people.
