Extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers from April 4th, 2015
The Government met this Saturday, April 4th, 2015, at the Noble Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, in Díli, and approved two diplomas:
1. Government Resolution on Posthumous Decoration for His Excellency Reverend Dom Alberto Ricardo da Silva
This diploma proposes to the President of the Republic to award His Excellency Reverend Dom Alberto Ricardo da Silva, posthumously, with the honorary title of the Order Nicolau Lobato, presented by the Commission of Tribute, Registration Supervision and Resources.
The Honorific Order of Nicolau Lobato is intended not only to the Veteran Combatants of National Liberation and to the National Liberation Combatants, as well as to Entities, which, through its relevant role, have contributed decisively to the National Liberation Struggle.
His Excellency Reverend Dom Alberto Ricardo da Silva leaves a legacy of hope and peace for its unsurpassed intervention, among other activities, in sheltering and protecting the young people from the Clandestine organization, in the Motael Church, which outcome resulted in a great peaceful demonstration that went from Motael to Santa Cruz, on November 12th, 1991, a fact that later caused him humiliating treatment by the Indonesian military.
2. Government Resolution approving national day of national mourning in honour of His Excellency Reverend Dom Alberto Ricardo da Silva
On April 6th, the government declared a day of national mourning, in honour of His Excellency Reverend Dom Alberto Ricardo da Silva. During the mourning period, the government buildings will have the national flag at half-mast, from 06:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m.
