After the endorsement of the Sixth Constitutional Government Program held on March 24th and 25th by the National Parliament, the evaluation process of the Supplementary General State Budget (GSB) for 2015 started today.
Today began the process of creating the Provisional Committee, which will issue the Report and Opinion on the Draft Law N. 18 / III (3rd) – First Amendment to Law N. 6/2014 (General State Budget for 2015).
Next Wednesday, April 1st, will start the one day discussion and approval of the General State Budget in generality, followed by the discussion and voting on each individual section, which, according to the Resolution Project n. 13 / III (3rd), approved today by the National Parliament, “unless otherwise determined, will be held in the plenary and shall not exceed two consecutive days.”
For this year, it is proposed that the State Budget will remain at $ 1.57 billion, an increase of less than 5% in respect of the amount allocated in 2014.
The expenses, guided by the Timor-Leste Development Strategic Plan, maintain a “policy of anticipating expenses” on infrastructure projects, which in the medium and long term “will contribute irreversibly to economic growth.”
