On February 17th, one day after the swearing-in ceremony, the VI Constitutional Government met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Díli, for its first meeting of the Council of Ministers. At this meeting, which brought together all the members of the new Executive, the Government’s Organic Law was discussed and approved.
Working groups were formed by ministerial office to define the content of this Decree-Law, which defines the structure, the organic, the competencies and the philosophy of the VI Constitutional Government. After lunch, the members of Government gathered once again to analyse the proposals, which were approved in the late afternoon.

This extraordinary meeting was held the day after the Swearing-In, by the President of the Republic Taur Matan Ruak, at the Presidential Palace in Lahane, Díli. Numerous national and international guests were present at the ceremony.
