The Minister of State and of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Luís Guterres, will carry out a work visit to Lisbon, Portugal, on October 13th, 2014, for a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), Mr. Murade Murargy, in which he will speak about the next Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the CPLP, to take place on October 29th, in Guinea Bissau.

From Portugal, the Minister of State and of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation travels to Italy, to participate in the 10th Global China Business Meeting, on October 13th and 14th, at Lake Como, which will bring together around 400 entrepreneurs and Government officials from China and from other countries of the American and European continents. José Luís Guterres is one of the guest speakers, on October 14th. The event aims to analyze the main economic, social and technological drivers currently operating in China.

On October 15th, Minister José Luís Guterres travels to Brussels, where he will stay until the 17th, to engage in a political dialogue with the European Union. On the agenda are several meetings with members of the European Parliament, namely with parliament members from the Development and External Services (DEVE) and External Action Services (EAS) Commissions and also senior officials from the European Commission. Minister José Luís Guterres will also meet with senior officials from the Development and Cooperation Directorate General of the European Commission (DEVECO). The issue of visa exemption for the Timorese within Schengen space will be one of the topics to address during the meetings.
