Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão will attend the celebrations of the Indonesian Armed Forces Day (TNI – Tentara Nasional Indonesia), which will take place on October 7 in Surabaya, and the Bali Democracy Forum VII, to be held in Bali on the 10th and 11th of October.

Xanana Gusmão is a special guest in the Surabaya celebration, where he will be accompanied by the Secretary of State for Defense, Júlio Tomás Pinto, by Major General Lere Anan Timur and by representatives of the veterans.

The Bali Democracy Forum VII takes place on the 10th and 11th of October.

On the 10th, the Prime Minister will address the forum during the Opening Session, just as in previous years and since the Forum’s first edition in 2008, where Xanana Gusmão has always been present.

In this VII edition, the theme of Bali Democracy Forum is on the “Evolving Regional Democratic Architecture” and has the particularity of being the last event where Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will participate as the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

This international Forum was an initiative of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, in 2008.

The Prime Minister returns to Timor-Leste on 12 October.
