Prime Minister and wife in presidential electionThe Prime Minister, Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo, accompanied by his wife, Teresa Soares, voted in the presidential election, in Bidau Akadiru-Hun polling place, in Dili on March 20.

After the vote, the Head of Government reminded the Timorese that they have to accept the results, in order to contribute to peace and stability of this country.

The Chief Executive praised the people of Timor-Leste for their civic behavior and maturity, democratic values and respect for difference of opinion: "Today, everyone has the duty to contribute and to elect the candidate who may be the President of our country.”

He also hoped that this democratic act will dignify our independence and a state building.
