SoSPE and UNTL sign an agreement to carry on studies

The Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality (SoSPE), Idelta Maria Rodrigues and the Rector of the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL), PhD Aurélio Guterres, signed, on April 8th, in Dili, a Memorandum of Understanding in order to carry on studies in four areas, budgeted in USD$ 100,000, amount that will be managed the Gender’s Study Centre, of the UNTL.

The four targeted areas of research are: family nutrition in the district of Oe-Cusse Ambeno; access to drinking water and sanitation by the educational institutions in Dili; capacity building of farmers in the subdistrict of Uatolari, district of Viqueque; and economic activities and access to electric power in the subdistrict of Laga, district of Baucau.

The Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality, Idelta Maria Rodrigues, said that the partnership with UNTL was already established in 2010.

In addition to the studies, public debates on gender in education will also be held.
