Prime Minister visits Guinea-Bissau and United States of America

Work Visit to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, from October 4th to October 8th
The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, travels to Guinea-Bissau, following an invitation from his Guinean counterpart, Rui Duarte de Barros.
Accompanying the Prime Minister on this visit to Guinea-Bissau are the Secretary of State for Administrative Decentralization, Tomás Cabral, FRETILIN’s Secretary-General and former Prime-Minister, Mari Alkatiri, and the Chairman of National Petroleum Authority, Gualdino da Silva.

Work visit to USA, from October 9th to October 16th
The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, starts this visit to the United States of America in New York, where he will address the “Workshop on Peacekeeping Transitions: Lessons learnt from the UNMIT Transition Process”, jointly sponsored by the New Zealand Mission to the United Nations and the Timor-Leste Mission to the United Nations, on October 10th.
The Prime Minister and his delegation will then proceed to Washington DC to take part in the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The Prime Minister will deliver his presentation during the Seminar on “Blessing or Curse: Making Earth’s Riches Work for Poor and Fragile Countries” to be held on October 11th.
While in Washington DC, the Prime Minister, along with the Finance Ministers of the g7+ group of States, is slated to meet with the President of the World Bank, Dr. Jim Yog Kim and IMF’s Managing Director, Christine Lagarde.
The Timorese delegation returns to New York City on October 14th for financial related meetings on 15 October. The delegation is expected to leave United States of America on 16 October 2013.
