It is necessary to give assistance to infrastructures for the People

The National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) consultation continued on August 16th in the Passabe sub-district, Oe-Cusse district.

The Passabe sub-district, belonging to the Oe-Cusse district, had the opportunity to welcome the SNDP socialization, having the Suco Chiefs and the population traditionally welcomed the Head of Government.

On the same occasion, the Sub-district Administrator explained to the Prime Minister that Passabe is geographically confronted to the West and South with territories belonging to Indonesia and to the North with the Oesilo and Nitibe sub-districts. The Abani and Malelat sucos belong to this sub-district. The population, based on data from the 2010 census, is 3898 men, 4275 women, in a total of 8173 citizens and 1901 heads of family.

Taking the opportunity of being in direct contact with the Prime Minister, the population, through their Suco representatives, presented their concerns in relation to the Decentralized Development Program (DDP) and the Suco Development Plan (SDP) based on the SNDP. For the next few years, the population are interested in the assistance the infra-structure area may be able to give to the community, particularly in regards to roads, electricity, bridges, education, telecommunication lines and social homes, from the Villages to the Sucos.

The Prime Minister responded by pointing out that the Strategic National Development Plan has the objective of releasing the people from the suffering and the distress they have been in since independence. He underlined that, in the past, few people believed that Timor-Leste would conquer its independence, however, because of its People, who knew how to embrace the moments of guerrilla resistance, Timor-Leste was finally able to get the recognition of its independence from other countries, and this Plan aims at make true another dream of a People that wants to break free from the suffering and anguish.
