The inauguration ceremony of Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice, Dr. Sebastião Dias Ximenes took place in the Naitonal Parliament on Wednesday April 14, together with his Deputies Dr. Silvério Pinto Baptista and Dr. Rui Pereira.

In his swearing-in speech, the Ombudsman Sebastião Ximenes promised to intensify his work towards enhancing the human resources capacity of the Office of PHRJ which he leads to ensure better implementation results in the areas of gender equity, human rights and good governance. Ombudsman Ximenes also promised to enhance the capacity of his four regional offices as well as better coordination with governmental institutions and the State as a whole.
