The Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães, congratulated the Agency of Information and Communication Technology (TIC Timor I.P.) on its 3rd anniversary.

I would like to congratulate TIC TIMOR I.P., specially the Executive Director and entire team. I wish that TIC TIMOR continues to work hard, so that our goal of implementing the Electronic Governance, an important part and key for good Governance, is not only to be responsible, but to bring good services, quickly, to our citizens. This effort should continue to grow and improve with each passing year, providing adequate and inclusive development to the entire population in Timor-Leste”, wished the PCM’s Minister .

The Government spokesman also expressed his satisfaction with the work that TIC TIMOR has been doing over these three years, namely the fact that the ministerial lines and the municipalities are working better and faster online, hoping that in the future, TIC TIMOR can do even better, even facing many difficulties.

“In addition to working with the ministerial lines, in the preparation of websites, internal organization, computerization for digitalizing and disseminating of information, which can reach the municipalities, currently TIC TIMOR is also working intensively in the area of telecommunications’ infrastructure for the government decentralization.”

In the context of the recent promulgation, by the President of Republic, of the new law of corruption prevention and combat, the role of TIC TIMOR continues to be very important, because “our public administration cannot provide better services to our citizens, without having a great capacity in the area of information technologies”, stressed the Minister.

Lastly, the Government member appealed to the entire TIC TIMOR team to, despite being a new organization and with most of the employees still young, continue to work not only with the objective of providing good services to the State, but they continue with a strong desire to empower themselves, because the future depends on competition, namely in the TIC TIMOR’s working area.

TIC TIMOR was created by Decree Law no. 29/2017, of August 19th and over these 3 years since its creation, it has already achieved a set of progresses, and is now already fulfilling the necessary requirements to be a Public Institute, namely on staff and technical capabilities. However, currently TIC TIMOR I.P. is under the authority of the Prime Minister’s Office, as there is still not a unique supervisory entity.
