Government and CNJTL Will Work Together on Education

The Minister of Education, Youth and Sport (MEJD), Dulce de Jesus Soares, met with the President of the Timor-Leste National Youth Council (CNJTL), Maria Dadi Magno at the MEJD conference hall in Vila Verde, Dili, on July 15, 2019.

The Minister of Education, Dulce de Jesus, explains that the purpose of this meeting was to review the program of the Eight Constitutional Government on the cooperation of the ministerial service - through the Secretary of State for Youth and Sport - to define the national youth plan and also the establishment of the National Youth Commission to be led by the Prime Minister. This committee is important because it can can help young people facing difficulties.

Minister Dulce also informed that, currently, some ideas are being discussed, notably how the two parties will work in the area of ​​education, through the youth who are part of the CNJTL, which will contribute to monitoring schools and extra-curricular activity, as a feature formation of students.

The CNJTL President also stressed that, at this meeting, she also discussed the CNJTL program presented to Government that CNJTL, as the CNJTL continues to be a strategic partner of the Government.

Maria Dadi Magno stressed that the CNJTL continues to strive to work with the Government to create this commission, and it is CNJTL's commitment to establish leadership training or a leadership school.

“I also appreciate the commitment of the ministry that will involve CNJTL in the education development program and I ask the government to continue to support youth associations that are partners with the government”, said the CNJTL President.
