Government congratulates Francisco Guterres Lú Olo on his 64th birthday

The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, sent a letter of congratulations to the President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú-Olo, who is celebrating his 64th birthday today.

Francisco Guterres Lú Olo was born on September 7, 1954, in Ossú, in the Viqueque District.

On 20 May 2017, at 00:00 hours, Lú Olo took office as the Sixth President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (Fourth President since the restoration of Timor-Leste's independence on 20 May 2002).

The Prime Minister addressed the President of the Republic, in his name and in name of the Eight Constitutional Government, "warm good wishes and sincere congratulations".

Taur Matan Ruak expressed "great joy to be associated with this festive date, marking the day of the birth of a friend and former combatant who dedicated his life to defending the Timorese People and fighting for National Liberation at the cost of enormous personal sacrifices".

The Head of Government wished the President of the Republic "many years of life full of peace, love, harmony, health and personal, family and public success, especially in his noble Presidential functions".

The Prime Minister concluded by stating that "this brief message constitutes a just homage that the Eight Constitutional Government pays to the President of the Republic, for the great responsibility that hangs over his shoulders".
