Minister of Justice meets with Minister of State Coordinator of Social Affairs, Justice and Strengthening of India

On Monday, April 9th, 2018, the Minister of Justice, Maria Ângela Carrascalão, accompanied by the General Director of the Ministry of Justice, Marcelina Tilman da Silva, by the Director of the National Directorate of Legal Advisory and Legislation (NDLAL), Nelinho Vital, and the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Justice, Lourenço Tavares Ferreira, held a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, the Minister of State Coordinator of Social Affairs, Justice and Strengthening of India, Krishan Pal Gurjar, in the meeting hall of the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Dili.

The participants at the meeting had a one-hour discussion on the current situation of the two countries regarding the infrastructure, agriculture and fisheries, health and education sectors.

During the meeting Krishan Pal Gurjar expressed his willingness to support Timor-Leste in the area of maritime security and defense.

The event culminated with a joint lunch and exchange of gifts between the Minister of Justice and the Minister of State Coordinator of Social Affairs, Justice and Strengthening of India, a sign of strengthening of the ties between Timor-Leste and India.
