Commemoration of the 42nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

The official ceremony to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the Proclamation of the Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, organized by the Ministry of State Administration, will take place on November 27 and 28.
On the 27th, at 4pm, a Thanksgiving Mass will begin at the Ave Maria Parish Church. At 5:45 p.m., the Place Name plaques will be unveiled at Avenida Mártires da Pátria and at Avenida António Mendonça "Leku Katar". At 6:15 p.m., flowers will be deposited at the Monument of the Black September Massacre.
On November 28, Day of the Proclamation of Independence, the ceremony begins at 9.15 am with the Raising of the National Flag at Ladi Field, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo, of the President of the National Parliament, Aniceto Longuinhos Guterres, of the Prime Minister, Mari Alkatiri, and of the President of the Court of Appeal, Deolindo dos Santos. A minute of silence will follow and at 9:55 am, the decoration of the combatants and veterans of the National Liberation by the President of the Republic. After the speech of the President of the Republic, at 10h40, there will be a parade and sports activities. The ceremony ends around 5 pm, after the Lowering of the National Flag.
