Minister of State, Coordinator for Social Affairs visits Philippines, Cuba and Portugal

The Minister of State, Coordinator for Social Affairs and Minister for Education, António da Conceição, is undertaking a working visit to the Philippines, Cuba and Portugal, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and engage in dialogue on development partnerships.
From the 6th to the 9th of June the Minister of State will visit the Republic of the Philippines with the objective of reinforcing cooperation with the Ministry of Education, particularly concerning the academic training of Timorese scholarship holders in Higher Education Institutions.
From the 12th to the 15th of June he has meetings in the Republic of Cuba to analyse the status of cooperation with the Pedagogical University of Cuba. He will visit the 25 Timorese students that study at this Institution. The Minister of State will also seek to meet with his Cuban counterpart to discuss the possibility of renewing the literacy project, which has reported on execution results from the 1st phase, in the end of 2016.
From the 17th to the 20th June Minister of State Conceição will be in the Portuguese Republic where meetings are set with his Portuguese counterpart and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Camões Institute, the interlocutors of the two main bilateral cooperation projects with the Portuguese Government – the Centres for Learning and Educational Training (in Portuguese “CAFE”) and the Teacher Training Project “Formar+”. There is also a meeting scheduled with the Ambassador for Cabo Verde in Portugal to analyse the situation of the Timorese Students in that African country.
