Timor-Leste co-presides to the 1st CPLP Energy Technical Meeting

Place: Conference Centre of Sipopo in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea

Reaching the final stretches of the Presidency of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP in Portuguese), this event is chaired by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Timor-Leste, Alfredo Pires, and the Minister for Industry and Energy of Equatorial Guinea, Eugenio Edu Ndong. The Director-General of CPLP, Georgina Benrós de Mello, and the Director for Cooperation of the Executive Secretariat, Manuel Clarote Lapão, will also take part in the meeting.
This is the first CPLP Energy technical meeting, composed by the Focal Points of the Member States in the Energy area.
In addition to the meeting, a seminar is scheduled for representatives of CPLP’s Energy Companies, under the theme "CPLP’s Energy potential", on October 6th. The following day will have technical visits to the country’s companies in the energy sector – SEGESA, GEPETROL, SONAGAS and Punta Europa.
This event comes in the wake of the meeting of Ministers of the CPLP responsible for Energy, on June 23rd, 2015, in Cascais, Portugal, at the 1st CPLP Meeting of Energy Ministers.
