68th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia

Timor-Leste welcomes the 68th Session of the World Health Organization Regional Committee for the Region of South East Asia (WHO-SEARO), which will be attended by the Ministers of Health of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Korea Democratic People's Republic, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Representatives of Ministers of Health of India, Myanmar and Thailand, representatives of the WHO Director-General from the headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Regional Director of WHO-SEARO.

The World Health Organization predicts the participation of about 200 delegates from the Member States of WHO-SEARO.

The Inaugural Ceremony presided by the Prime Minister, Rui Maria de Araujo, will be held at the Dili Convention Centre (CCD) from 09h00 to 12h30, on September 7, 2015.

The first working session starts at 13h30 and ends at 17h00, in the Grand Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC), and led by the Minister of Health, Maria do Céu Sarmento Pina da Costa.

The other sessions will be held at MNEC, between 8 and 11 September 2015.

This is the first time that Timor-Leste host this High Level meeting, from which will come out new priority commitments of health policy for the region.
