SEAPSEM organises training for Timorese entrepreneurs

The Secretary of State for the Support and Socio-Economical Promotion of Women (SEAPSEM), through its Economic Department, organized a training between April 27th and May 1st, for a group of entrepreneurs and workers, from the Municipalities of Liquiçá, Ermera, Aileu, Díli (Ataúro - group Bikeli Anan) and Manatuto (Natarbora - group Feto Natarbora), in the Maria Goreti Lounge, in Caicoli, Díli.

The objective of this training is to increase the knowledge of Timorese women entrepreneurs in the areas of accounting and business management.

During the opening session, the Secretary of State for SEAPSEM, Veneranda Lemos Martins, stressed that this training focuses on the development of business, marketing, production and financial management in groups and companies.

"Women must have the ability to manage companies and also themselves, so that they can compete with men in the development of Timor-Leste”, defended Veneramda Lemos Martins.

The Secretary of State asked for seriousness and discipline during the training days, for the best possible assimilation of the knowledge provided by the trainers, and for this knowledge to be put into practice in each group or company.

At the end, Elisa Jong Nheu, director of the company Profrawijaya, Lda (Liquica), expressed her enthusiasm with the training, recognizing its added value, leaving the promise to apply all the knowledge acquired.

The same view was shared by Maria Imaculada da Silva, director of the company Badaen Solution Group, Lda (Manatuto), and by Marciana Gomes from the group Feto Bikeli Anan.

"It is necessary to continue this type of initiative seeing that three days of training are not enough, " they add.

This training was supported by IADE, by the Specialized Investment Agency (AEI), the National Bank of Commerce for Timor-Leste (BNCTL) and the Service for Registration and Verification of Entrepreneurs (SERVE).
