Press Release

Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers from February 27th, 2015

The Government met extraordinarily this Friday, February 27th, 2015, in the Council of Ministers’ meeting room, at the Government Palace, in Díli, and analysed exhaustively the draft Program for the Sixth Constitutional Government, which was based on proposals sent last week by members of the new Executive and on the Fifth Constitutional Government’s Program. This draft includes changes suggested by the members of Government for each sector, to improve, complement and ensure that the document, which will guide the Executive’s action until 2017, will be implemented in the next two and half years.

The members of the Council of Ministers will analyse, within the next few days, the document that resulted from this meeting so that, after approval in an upcoming meeting, it may be submitted to the National Parliament.

It is noted that the Sixth Constitutional Government has the philosophy to give continuity to the work developed by the previous government, and honour this legacy, whilst, however, adapting to the changes that derive from the development that the country has been registering.
