Prime Minister explains the audit to the judicial system, in an interview to RTTL

On the 4th November, in a live interview for Rádio Televisão de Timor-Leste (RTTL) carried out in the Judicial Training Centre, the Prime Minister, Xanana Gusmão, spoke about the need to carry out an audit to the judicial system in Timor-Leste.

Based on Resolution n. 11/2014, dated 14 of October, approved by National Parliament, with monitoring responsibilities, the Government approved, on the same day, Government Resolution n. 29/2014 - “Audit and Measures regarding the Justice Sector”.

In this interview to RTTL, the Prime Minister highlighted the need and importance to protect national sovereignty and independence, as well as the progress of the international taxation cases which involve values in the order of 378 million American dollars. In 16 consecutive cases already carried out, o State of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste has had a loss of 35 million American dollars.
