Inauguration of the new building for the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Brussels

The Minister of State and of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), José Luís Guterres, inaugurated the new building of the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Brussels, Belgium. The new facilities are located at Avenue de Tervuren 102, and the event took place on Wednesday, October 15th.

 “I am truly satisfied for being here to the inauguration of the building of the Embassy of Timor-Leste. This achievement represents another important step for the Timorese people and nation, as these facilities will ease the services of the Embassy in Brussels”, stated  José Luís Guterrez.

Present at the ceremony were the parliament member from the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, David Dias Ximenes; the Minister of Justice, Dionísio Babo; the Ambassador of Timor-Leste in Brussels, Nelson dos Santos; the General Director for the MoFAC, João Freitas Câmara and the Assistant of the National Authorization Office (NAO), Madalena F. M. Hanjam Costa Soares, among others.

Also attending, were some members from the European Parliament, ambassadors and citizens of Brussels, who have supported Timor-Leste.

Following the inauguration, the Minister José Luís Guterres and his delegation also had a meeting at the European Parliament with members of the European Parliament, led by Parliament Member Ana Gomes. This meeting was aimed at strengthening cooperation between Timor-Leste and the European Commission, and also addressed the issue of progress, development, peace and stability in Timor-Leste.
