Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers from September 11th, 2014

The Government met this Thursday, September 11th, 2014, in the Council of Ministers’ Meeting Room, at the Government Palace, in Dili, in order to perform an analysis of the political situation of the country on a regional and worldwide context. This reflection from the Council of Ministers follows various events from international organizations in which the Government of Timor-Leste was involved - such as the World Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, which took place last month in Bali, or the United Nations Conference on Small-island Developing States, which took place in the beginning of this month in Samoa, or the United Nations’ Security Council Meeting, which will take place this month, in New York, or the g7+ activity,  a group which already gathers more than 20 countries, of which Timor-Leste is an active facilitator. The Governmental analysis aimed to position the internal work on the development of the country, considering the complex international issues on which the nation is intrinsically involved.

The Council of Ministers also re-examined the issue of leadership succession on the Civil Service Commission, having analysed and discussed proposals of several candidates to the position of Civil Service Commissioner.
